Welcome to Westville

Join the Edgewood Park Greenspace Group to beautify the park! Everybody is welcome - no experience is needed and it's a great way to help the park, make new friends, and learn new skills.  Please feel free to invite your friends, too. Our Urban Resources Initiative intern, Mariana Lo will help us with ideas, technical knowledge, tools and mulch. This Thursday we will:

• Plan how to beautify the space immediately around the sign at Edgewood and Hobart.  It used to have some plantings, but they are gone now.      
• Look at the new trees in the playground area that we planted in the past few years. We will prune, weed and mulch them.      
• Go to Ella Grasso Blvd. and Stanley St. and learn about David Moser's (the Parks Dept. landscape architect) ideas for reviving the garden at that entrance.      
• Go to the park sign at Ella Grasso Blvd. and Chapel St. to weed and mulch around the sign, clean it, and determine if it needs additional plants.    

URI provides tools, but you are welcome to bring your own favorites and some gloves. Hope to see many of you on Thursday morning!
