CT Folk
has pivoted from a one-day music festival, which has traditionally attracted more than 5000 attendees, to four breakout events at a new venue which will provide greater access to the New Haven community. Taking place in New Haven’s Edgewood Park, Folk At the Edge, sponsored by Grassy Hill Entertainment, features a wide array of artists representing a broad spectrum of folk music. The concert series will host an eclectic line-up across four dates presented right in the heart of New Haven. CT Folk is also proud to feature local nonprofits and  New England Brewing Company is a proud sponsor throughout the season.
Event Director, Nicole Mikula, shares, “Last year presented us with a lot of opportunity to rethink our approach and 2021 has delivered. Instead of one large, outdoor live event, we’re bringing four amazing events to the stage. We’ve pivoted to a new location in New Haven: the beautiful Edgewood Park, which touches four distinct neighborhoods. CT Folk has always been about inclusivity and community, and we’re excited to deliver great acts that tell their stories in the great American Folk tradition: with authenticity, energy, and impact. We invite and encourage people to continue supporting local, live music, arts organizations and independent music venues.”
To close out the season, Amythyst Kiah will headline Edgewood Park on Saturday, September 25. Labeled “one of Americana’s great up-and-coming secrets” by Rolling Stone, Kiah seamlessly blends the iconoclastic alt-rock that first sparked her musical passion, and the roots/old-time-music scene where she’s found breakout success in recent years. More acts are still to come for the can’t-miss finale to the season.
