'Every 28 Hours: New Haven' Plays
An evening of one-minute plays responding to the contested statistic that every 28 hours a black person is killed in America.
"Every 28 Hours" is a project co-created and produced by Claudia Alick of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Dominic D'Andrea of The One-Minute Play Festival, with the participation of theater artists around the country. Originally created and produced on the ground in the St Louis community, and in Ferguson, the third phase of the project is a coordinated series of national readings and engagements all over the country sponsored and presented by our partnering theaters.
The "Every 28 Hours" plays consist of 72 one-minute plays inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement, with participation from artists across the nation.
Groups participating include:
- People Against Police Brutality
- BlackLivesMatterNewHaven
- Collective Consciousness Theatre
- SCSU
- Long Wharf Theatre
- Showing Up for Racial Justice
- Elm Shakespeare
