Report from Syria
Very little reporting from wartorn Syria in the US is first hand. Almost none comes from where the majority of Syrians live. Henry Lowendorf, Co-Chair of the Greater New Haven Peace Council led a delegation of 7 activists on a US Peace Council organized Peace and Fact-Finding delegation to Syria at the end of July. The delegation met with representatives of a variety of organizations - lawyers, school teachers, handworkers, student union, university faculty, leaders of industry, Muslim and Christian leaders, and high-level officials in the Syrian government, including President Bashar al Assad.
