On April 13, 2024, the New Haven Age Group Track Club is hosting the Coach T Memorial 5 K Run for Youth at Edgewood Park. This event is in honor of Coach William Thompson who passed away in 2014. Coach Thompson was a role model, mentor and youth advocate who impacted so many lives.The corner of Chapel Street and Ella Grasso Boulevard is Coach William Thompson Way. There will be a kids fun run which will begin at 8:20 am. The 5K run or walk begins at 9:00 am at Coogan Pavilion. This will be a fun family event which promotes healthy living while paying homage to our beloved Coach Thompson.
