The Bioswale in Mitchell Library's Backyard
The bioinfiltration project at Mitchell Library is the largest of the green infrastructure projects currently completed in the City. Over 200 bioswales are planned for construction by 2017 as part of an initiative to strengthen the resiliency of the City against future storm events. Dawn Henning is a Project Manager for the City of New Haven’s Engineering Department. A recent graduate of Yale’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, Dawn’s focus is on the use of green infrastructure to address issues of stormwater management and improve the quality of the waterbodies surrounding the City of New Haven.
