Kallos Chamber Music Series: Opening Concert

In its inaugural season, Kallos Chamber Music Series will present its first concert of the season on Thursday, January 31 at 7:30pm. at the Lyric Hall Theater, 827 Whalley Ave, in New Haven. The evening’s performers will be violinist Jung Eun Kang, cellist Ole Akahoshi, and pianist and Kallos artistic director Min Young Kang. The concert will explore a variety of musical landscapes, featuring composers from four different continents. The program begins with Ole Akahoshi and Min Young Kang performing Debussy’s enchanting Sonata for Cello and Piano in D minor. Before intermission, Jung Eung Kang will join Mr. Akahoshi and Ms. Kang in Dvořák’s Piano Trio(“Dumky”) in E minor, Op. 90. The second half opens with David Lang’s Light Moving, performed by both Ms.Kang. The concert concludes with the youthful Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio in D minor, Op.49.
