February 8, 2018, by Mary O'Leary- "Westville residents had suggestions for how to incorporate art into a proposed apartment complex that could also use some tweaking on its facade, but overall a dense development that would fill an empty lot in the center of the village was very welcomed. The plan also brings back the popular Delaney's Restaurant and Tap Room to the first floor as the commercial tenant at the 22-apartment building proposed for Whalley Avenue, Central Avenue and Fountain Street. It is the same site where a fire on Aug. 25, 2014, destroyed the 100-year-old building that housed Delaney's, and before that the Cape Codder restaurant. “I’m very excited that we have a project going forward and I’m glad we are going to get some impact,” said Elizabeth Donius, executive director of the Westville Village Renaisance Alliance, before opening up a meeting for residents with the developer. The consensus was to support the project brought forward by Lior Israel, who bought the land, as well as the general design conceived by architect Leon S. Mularski Jr. of TMG. Mularski said he was working on some changes that were in sync with the suggestions, but not one that would hark back to the original building design..."
